The recession has had an interesting effect on many women’s careers. Some women before the recession thought they knew exactly how they would spend their professional years – doing exactly what they were doing now. And like so many things in life, the best-laid plans often got a new and unexpected direction. New authors Julia Silva and Kirsten Becker fall into this category. Both were highly successful professionals working in the commercial real estate market. Both put their heads together to reinvent their careers in a most unusual way.
Both Kirsten and Julia had been through years of grueling custody battles, and job loss and were now living on the financial edge.
This current economic slump was really putting a cramp in their life style and they had to do something about it. Julia woke up one morning and the first words out of her mouth were “Today is the first day of the rest of my life”. Enthusiastic about her new point of view on that December morning, she called her best friend Kirsten to discuss when they would start meeting to write their book.
Our Stimulus Package is a sexually charming collection of side-splitting dating stories from all over the country that are voluntarily shared by Julia and Kirsten’s close friends. This will be a book of non-fiction and any resemblance to venues, actual events, persons, places or body parts are purely coincidental.

We were told it would take 4 months to get into the national book stores..not us!! We started making calls and met with the manager of the South Tampa Borders. He quickly purchased 100 copies and put out a beautiful display!!! This really is a big deal for new authors – so we need your help! Please join us on Tuesday, July 27th at 7:00pm for our first official "national store book signing" – We may not be, Tori Spelling, however, with your help we can pack the house!!

On June 23, we celebrated the launch of our amazing book with a Launch Party at the Tampa Museum of Art. Former Tampa Mayor Dick Greco introduced us to a packed house filled with 400 of our closest friends. Thanks to everyone who can and shared the evening with us!.

I tried to take a little time off with the kids. It is so hard to "take" time off in the middle of raising three of my own kids, two of his, running four businesses, writing this book and keeping the bills paid. Cat and I are getting closer and closer to the finish line. Yesterday, we received an e-mail from a reporter who found us due to our social media marketing efforts. He wants to interview us about how we have "reinvented" ourselves. This is getting more exciting by the day!!!
